The kickoff meeting for the project "META-TOO: A transfer of knowledge and technology for investigating gender-based inappropriate social interactions in the Metaverse" took place on June 11, 2024, at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).
The META-TOO project aims to investigate and address inappropriate social interactions in the Metaverse based on gender to create safer virtual environments. Additionally, the project focuses on enhancing NKUA's research and management capabilities, contributing to progress in this critical area.
The project has been funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe program and will run for 3 years.
The project coordinator is Associate Professor Maria Roussou from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications. Other project partners include the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (Inria) and the Fundació de Recerca Clínic Barcelona-Institut d’Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (FRCB-IDIBAPS) along with the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona (HCB) from Spain.
